A quick update today as I am on the way to the Freedom Warrior golf outing at Avalon Squaw Creek.A cloudy and muggy start to our way but I expect things to brighten up as we head into the midday and the afternoon.
Highs today will be similar to yesterday, maybe a couple of degrees cooler.....but the dewpoints have skyrocketed since last evening so, when the sun is out, it will FEEL much more stifling than yesterday.
Very spotty, hit/miss thunderstorms are in the forecast for this afternoon and evening. 15 hour futurecast:
Tomorrow will feature a cold front heading our way and thunderstorms will fire in some spots, mainly in the afternoon and evening.
Severe weather risk is low but not zero. Even in a non-severe storm there could be some torrential downpours. Lots of moisture to wring out of the atmosphere.
Friday and the weekend still look quite nice with some sunshine (especially Saturday/Sunday) and lower humidity.Quick word about the long range....Late next week a very strong ridge looks like it will park over the Midwest. While the core of the heat will be centered to our west, I think there will be a few days late next week where highs of 90-95 will be possible. Unusual for mid-summer? Not really but when you consider our hottest temperature since 2013 has been 91....
