MAY 12 MORNING WEATHER BRIEFING

GOOD MORNING!

Wednesday's highs were in the mid 70s and with some humidity it felt a bit like summer. Today will certainly feel like June or even July with highs between 80-82 this afternoon:hrrr_t2m_max_cleveland_8.pngDewpoints will be mainly in the lower 60s later today, making it feel rather humid (especially by May standards). The warmth and humidity will make the atmosphere modestly unstable later today as a cold front approaches. A shower or thunderstorm is something that can't be ruled out this afternoon but the highest risk of wet weather is this evening into the overnight. 15 hour futurecast:hrrr_2016051210_ref_clevelandI am not worried about widespread severe weather with the front coming through at night and a lack of wind shear in the atmosphere. The Storm Prediction Center has much of Ohio in a "marginal" risk and honestly I suspect they are too far east with this.day1.pngrisk.pngHourlyPoPs.jpg

TURNING NICE FRIDAY

Friday will start damp but the rain will be out of here shorty after daybreak on average.7afriday.pngThe afternoon will be breezy and less humid with sunshine and temperatures in the lower 70s. Take advantage if you can!

THE WEEKEND

tdy_tren_downer_131001.jpg

A rainy start to Saturday with spotty showers around in the afternoon as well. Much cooler with highs in the mid 50s.satam.pngSunday: Yick. Even cooler with spotty showers that may have soft hail/graupel. Wet SNOW could be seen in southern NY and northern PA (I don't think we see snowflakes here). Highs around 50 or so. Many will stay in the 40s. Catch up on Netflix.

sunday.pngFROST/FREEZE THREAT?

Temperatures will drop quickly Sunday night. The threat for frost is legitimate and I can't rule out subfreezing temperatures for some. Plan to cover/bring in plants.monamtemps.png

LONG RANGE

I like the chances for warmth in the longer range....the final 1/3 of May will hold the best chance for above average temperatures this month.KYNG_2016051200_min_max_16.png
