APRIL 26 MORNING WEATHER BRIEFING

GOOD MORNING!

Whew, what a noisy hour that was early this morning! Howling winds, heavy rain and some lightning and thunder starting around 4am. The wind gusted to 43mph at the airport. Some local rain totals:DMARain.jpgThe band of heavy rain and thunder has pushed well south and many places have sunshine at 8:35am.nowmapThe front that is still off to our north will glide through around midday. There can be a spotty shower (small chance for thunder) but that is about it. Most of today will be dry. 15 hour simulated radar:hrrr_2016042610_ref_clevelandTemperatures will reach the mid and upper 60s around midday and then readings will hold steady or even slowly fall.highstodayy.pngSevere weather outbreak is still expected today in the Plains states. Se veral large, long-lived tornadoes and plenty of large, damaging hail seem likely. The most active part of the day will be early this evening.day1.png9pmplains

A NICE WEDNESDAY

In between systems Wednesday so we'll have some sun and seasonable temperatures. A nice day!wedsmap.pngModelTemps.jpg

DAMP THURSDAY

The steadiest rain is likely to be Thursday morning but a shower can linger well into Thursday and even Thursday night. A potentially very cool day as well as we may be hard pressed to get out of the lower/middle 50s. Will depend on the exact track of the low.thursmap.png

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND

Shower possibility remains in the forecast for Friday morning....hopefully we can get some sun in the afternoon.Saturday: looking good with some sunshine and seasonable temperatures.Sunday: not as good with some rain likely.frimap.pngsunmap.png

LONG RANGE:

Not a very warm pattern in the medium to long range. It seems that we won't see yesterday's warmth again for a while.longrange
